Journey through Lent with Kathleen Norris
At St. Paul’s UMC, Houston, Rev. Gail Williford will lead Lenten study of the book 40-Day Journey with Kathleen Norris, edited by Kathryn Haueisen. The study will be conducted on Thursdays through Lent, beginning from February 23.
The group will meet from 1- 2:30 p.m., starting immediately after the week’s Lenten Recital in the Sanctuary. This 40-day program is based on short quotations from Kathleen Norris’s books plus additional daily material that includes passages from the Bible, questions to ponder, a Psalm fragment, journal reflections, and prayers. In her preface, Editor Kathryn Haueisen writes about Norris as a poet, a preacher, a student of early church theologians and monastics, and an architect of words.
Participants may bring their own copy of the book or purchase it for $15 at the first session. If you need to purchase the book, please pre-order the text when registering. To register for this free study, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 713-528- 0527.
