UMM - SCJ Gathering July 29-31
The United Methodist Men of the South Central Jurisdiction (SCJ) and the GCUMM invite all to attend the UMMen’ s SCJ Gathering on July 29-31, 2011.The Gathering will be held in First UMC in Wichita, Kansas, and hosted by the Kansas East/West Conference UMMen.

On Saturday morning, Rev. Todd Guinn will encourage us to share our knowing Christ with the youth that surround us. Men are challenged to invite a son or grandson or any youth they know to share the Gathering with them. What a great opportunity to mentor! Following Rev Guinn’s message, the men attending in
Those attending at remote sites will have this time to share Christ in a project sponsored by the remote site facilitators. After lunch, Rev. Marvin Wood will talk to us about how we can share Christ with men who are in prison and we will share a message of Understanding Men’s Ministry. Rev. Kevass Harding will speak on knowing and sharing Christ. Following dinner, Bishop Hays will address the Gathering and we will share communion. What better way to know and share Christ!
All through the weekend, Roger Cooper will share Christ with us through his music and his stories.

The opportunity is being offered for business and private individuals to show their support of the ministry of Jesus though the UMMen. There will be a scroll listing of all contributors by State acknowledging their support and asking the men to support their businesses in return. Their checks should be made payable to SCJ UMMen with Gathering sponsor in the memo line.

When not connected via the webcast, all should be connected in sharing a meal and sharing God with their hands serving others. A remote hook up only cost $75 in advance plus $10 paid later for each attendee. Site facilitators should set local prices to recover all registration fees plus any service project cost, Etc. Conference Presidents are requested to support the Gathering with a Conference donation of $250. They should also encourage all Districts to support with a $100 donation and local churches should be encouraged to donate $25 each.
