Africa University Fund Supports Leaders

The United Methodist-related Africa University plays a critical role --with more than 6,200 graduates, degrees in six faculties of learning, plus programs in peace, leadership and governance. Last year, United Methodists missed the budgeted goal for the university by more than $200,000. To students who depend on generous gifts for their education, that is a huge amount.

Bishop Marcus Matthews, Chair of the Board and Advisory Development Committees Vice Chair of the AU Board of Directors says that the Texas Annual Conference came up short in meeting its apportionment last year. “With few months remaining in 2015, your local churches still have time to rally and pay this apportionment at 100 percent,” he shares.

Congregations can download resources from the pastor and leader kit or visit the Africa University Development Office website.
