St. Mark’s Offers Community a "Healthy Gift"
The West End section of Houston is the place to be on Saturday, November 7, 2015, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Share in this outreach ministry that will provide gifts of knowledge and good health tips.
This Annual Community Health Fair and Fall Festival is sponsored by St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 1615 Patterson Street. The event is free and fun – with an abundance of games, a “bouncy,” activities and treats for the children.
What should you expect? Free glucose and blood pressure screening will be available, and the St Joseph’s Hospital Mobile Unit will be on hand with cholesterol screening and flu shots. Also available will be representatives from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department, Texan Plus, AA, Blindness Prevention and a Prayer Center.
Other vendors will be on site representing the University of Houston School of Pharmacy, Wells Fargo Bank to attend to one’s financial wellness; Synthesis Health to address nutrition; psychotherapists from Aplomb Counseling and the Texas Cooperative Extension Center – health and other services.
Holiday and specialty-item vendors round out the list for this yearly event.
