Administrator for Youth and Young Adult Ministries

The Center for Congregational Excellence is seeking an Administrator to help coordinate conference youth and young adult ministry programs. 

 

Primary Responsibility:

To build a connectional working relationship with youth and young adult ministries across the conference with focus on meeting the needs of our young people to develop disciples of Jesus Christ. 

 

Basic Focus:

Areas of focus will include a primary role in the continuation of the Texas Youth Academy, building relationships with district and local church youth/young adult directors requiring approximately 25-30% of travel across the conference, an advocate/liaison for youth workers, directors, and ministers with the conference, coordinate conference wide events including SpiLiRa and JYMO, and provide support to a Conference Youth/Young Adult Leadership organizations.

 

Key items would include but not be limited to:

  • Equipping local church youth leadership
  • Resource for events, curriculum and staff trainers
  • Work as liaison with Lakeview concerning youth events
  • Develop a Youth Leader conference wide gathering event
  • Develop a tracking system for college bound youth.

 

Qualification and Education Requirements:

  • Extensive personal experience with youth and young adult ministry.
  • Possess business administration and technology skills.
  • Fun and Creative
  • Mature communication /negotiation/conflict resolution skills.
  • Understanding of Methodist polity and doctrine (See The Book of Discipline ¶ 649 and ¶ 650)
  • Adaptable to society changes
  • Minimum Education Requirement is a BA/BS, preferably a Masters in Youth Ministry or Master of Divinity.

Reports to:  Director of Congregational Excellence

Salary will commensurate depending upon level of experience.
