A Campaign to Fight Human Trafficking

The mission of Texas Annual Conference, Center for Missional Excellence is making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world to the glory of God. Therefore, we are focusing our 2017 efforts to make a difference in the fight against human trafficking.

Over 200,000 U.S. youth and young adults are at risk of being enslaved in sex trafficking each year. 68% of young people who run away or are otherwise on the streets are picked up by traffickers within 48 hours of being on the streets

  • There are over 83,000 labor and sex trafficking victims in Texas every year   |  There are over 20,000 labor and sex trafficking victims in Houston every year
  • There are over 450,000 labor and sex trafficking victims in the U.S. every year   |   There are over 21 million sex and labor trafficking victims in the world each year.

25% of all trafficking victims are children

Join our team for one of our events. Together we can make a difference in ending human trafficking. Texas Annual Conference is a 501(c )3 nonprofit organization – check us out at www.txcumc.org

STRUT YOUR MUTT - ABOUT THIS ACTIVITY

The 2nd Annual Strut Your Mutt 5k will begin at 9 am at Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater (1015 Colgate Drive, College Station, Texas 77840), as well as end at Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater.

Strut Your Mutt 5k is a dog friendly event. All dogs, any size or breed, are welcomed to come out as long as they are **UP TO DATE** on their rabies vaccine. We highly recomend that if your dog is too young (under 6 months old) to be fully vaccinated, that they stay home. We do no want anyone gettting sick and puppies are very vulnerable. All dogs **MUST** be on a leash. While we prefer a fixed length leash, we will accept dogs on retractable leashes. At no point BEFORE, DURING. or AFTER the event (while on event grounds) will dogs be permitted off leash. Please understand that this is a safety precaution for everyone and their canine companions. We stress, if your dog is not dog friendly or doesn't do well with crowds please consider leaving them at home. We will have water stations throughout the event and a medical tent set up in the event a furry kiddo gets injured, ill, ect.

This is a family friendly event, all kids are welcomed to participate in the 5k (at a reduced price). Every registered runner will receive a FREE 5K t-shirt. All proceeds will go to Long Way Home Pit Bull Rescue.

Parking is at Post Oak Mall.
