A Campaign to Fight Human Trafficking

The mission of Texas Annual Conference, Center for Missional Excellence is making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world to the glory of God. Therefore, we are focusing our 2017 efforts to make a difference in the fight against human trafficking.

Over 200,000 U.S. youth and young adults are at risk of being enslaved in sex trafficking each year. 68% of young people who run away or are otherwise on the streets are picked up by traffickers within 48 hours of being on the streets

  • There are over 83,000 labor and sex trafficking victims in Texas every year   |  There are over 20,000 labor and sex trafficking victims in Houston every year
  • There are over 450,000 labor and sex trafficking victims in the U.S. every year   |   There are over 21 million sex and labor trafficking victims in the world each year.

25% of all trafficking victims are children

Join our team for one of our events. Together we can make a difference in ending human trafficking. Texas Annual Conference is a 501(c )3 nonprofit organization – check us out at www.txcumc.org

About This Activity

This looped course 5k event starts and finishes at the campus of Northside Christian Center and Academy in Carthage, TX. The course takes a relatively level path through beautiful residential areas in Carthage, with plenty of shaded, residential roads. This is a great beginners course, but will also offer the avid 5k runner a great course to set a new PR! Participants are invited to Run, Walk, or even "Mount Up" (on a bike) for this race.
