Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a full-time youth pastor who is experienced and knows how to lead and expand a comprehensive ministry to youth and their families. The candidate should be a self-motivated individual who is creative, organized, a good communicator, and a team player. The ideal applicant will have experience leading teams of adults, coordinating youth mission trips, managing a church budget, and music ministry is a plus. We prefer a minimum of two years of experience in a similar leadership responsibility serving in a church or para-church ministry. A high school degree is required and completion of a Bachelor’s degree or more is preferred. Salary is commensurate with education and ministry experience. Some additional benefits provided.

Duties and responsibilities will include:
-To plan, program and carry out an effective ministry to and with our youth that will engage them in a Bible-based ministry, encourage them to participate in worship, music, missions, and help them live Christ-centered lives, and
-To work with the adult volunteers in regular meetings, as well as parents, sponsors, and the pastor(s) in planning and programming an effective ministry our youth can feel good about inviting a friend to, and
-To be involved with the personal lives of the youth as a friend sharing life with them as a visible, participating member of the Cornerstone community through school events and athletics (must make an effort to attend some events every semester), and
-To teach and model invitation and friendship evangelism so that new and particularly unchurched youth can come and grow with the group, and
-To teach and model hospitality within the group so that guests are welcomed, and
-To resource, teach and train the youth volunteers in regard to the unique needs of youth, as well as recruiting new volunteers, and
-To communicate well in advance to youth, volunteers, and parents the plans and requirements for trips, program events, and regular youth opportunities through publications and calendars, and
-To consistently communicate the importance and vision of the youth group to the congregation through the bulletin, announcements, and fundraisers, etc., and
-To be active in our Sunday morning worship service in whatever ways suit your particular gifts, and
-To consult with the SPRC, adult volunteers, and lead pastor when trouble arises, advice or support is needed.  The Youth Pastor is to meet with the pastor(s) and volunteers regularly, having goals and plans worked out well in advance, and
-To attend all staff meetings (to be scheduled in consultation with all staff and their other schedules) and retreats to enhance team building, communication, and coordination of church activities, and provide opportunities for the mission outreach, and
-To attend all meetings of the Church Council and Education Ministry Team (including Charge/Church Conference) to give account of the program areas and future plans) and
-To participate in church summer camp, summer mission trips, VBS, and plan/organize/implement at least 2 small or 1 large youth trip per year, and
-To be responsible for the teaching of Confirmation,
-To be responsible for forming and maintaining budget for the church year, and
-To be flexible should other changes, needs or improvements be necessary.
